Women in Finance

The Acadia University Finance Society will be hosting a Women in Finance event on February 3rd, 2018 from 12pm to 5pm. The intent is to bring attention to the profession and study of finance in post-secondary education and in particular the lack of female representation in the field. The workshop is free and a light dinner will be provided at the end. While the focus of the event is on Women in Finance, anyone is welcome to attend.

Finance is an incredibly important field in business – especially attractive to students interested in mathematics. The focus of this event is to guide and inform students about the study and potential career opportunities available in finance. This information session will not only provide students with a phenomenal learning opportunity, but a chance to understand that there is more to business degrees than just sales and accounting.

Please further note that there will be a tour of Acadia University provided beginning at 11am, should students be interested. It is not necessary to attend this tour in order to attend the workshop. Students may indicate upon registration if they would like to attend the tour.

Students can register for the event by emailing and indicating their name, high school, and preferred email.  There is a Facebook event page which has more information. This can be accessed by going to the Acadia Finance Society Facebook page: @AcadiaFinanceSociety. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email Ella Murphy, at
